Religion writer prize winner says religious knowledge vital
in today's world
Geneva (ENI). The recipient of the 2001 John
Templeton "European Religion Writer of the Year" prize, Henri Tincq of the
daily newspaper Le Monde, has asserted at a ceremony in Paris
that religious knowledge is critical to understanding today's world. "The
religious dimension has become essential to any analysis of the contemporary
world," Tincq, who runs the religion desk at Le Monde, said at the 19
September award ceremony held in the offices of the French Protestant
Federation. The award is administered by the Conference of European Churches
on behalf of the US-based John Templeton Foundation. [250 words,
